Under the direction of the Superintendent and Director of the Santa Ynez Valley Special Education Consortium (SYVSEC) the Business Manager plans, organizes, directs, supervises, performs and reviews the fiscal operations of the Santa Ynez Valley Special Education Consortium and Administrative Unit's Fund "06"; assists the Director in assuring compliance with applicable Education Codes and state federal regulation: trains and manages assigned personnel; and works in collaboration with the Administrative Unit's Chief Business Official in support of the Districts' fiscal operations.

A four-year degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance,
 business administration, or closely related field, three (3) years' experience in a responsible
 position in a school district business office or any combination of the two.
 • Knowledge of budgetary, accounting, fiscal procedures, policies and methods of School districts.
 • Ability to formulate plans and policies and to plan, organize and support staff.
 • Exemplary communication skills and a demonstrated ability to write and verbally present clear
 and concise management, financial and related reports.
 • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.
 • A valid California Drivers License with no restrictions; driving on the job is continuous
 requirement.
 • Fingerprint and tuberculosis clearances as required by law.
 • Knowledge of the internal workings of a Consortium, SBCSELPA and Joint Powers Agency.

About Buellton Union School District

Buellton Union School District is a K-8 district with an enrollment of approximately 600 students. It is currently served by two schools. OAK VALLEY ELEMENTARY includes grades TK-5, while JONATA MIDDLE SCHOOL serves students in grades 6-8. Both are rural, neighborhood schools located within a few blocks of one another in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley, approximately 40 miles north of the city of Santa Barbara.
