The Desert Sands Unified School District Facilities Services Department oversees all aspects of the District’s capital improvement projects. Measure KK was a $275 Million General Obligation Bond (GO Bond) passed in 2014, and Measure A is a $675 Million Go Bond passed in March of 2024. There are currently 17 major modernization and construction projects prioritized for construction as part of the Measure A Bond Program. These projects will be grouped and constructed in phases over the next 12-15 years. Facilities Project Managers are needed to lead project teams of consultants and contractors for Measure KK, Measure A, and other Capital projects as they are developed.
Under direction, manages and coordinates the District’s new construction and reconstruction program ensuring fiscal accountability and cost effectiveness; and, compliance with District, State and Federal requirements.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Business Administration, Public Administration, Planning or related field and two (2) years of experience in construction and/or renovation which included one (1) year of managing consultants; OR six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in construction and/or renovation which included one (1) year of managing consultants. Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid California Driver’s license.
