The Santa Clara County Office of Education is now accepting applications for the position of Manager - Payroll Services.
The Manager - Payroll Services will, plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise the payroll operations and activities of the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE); oversee and audit the preparation, processing and maintenance of the SCCOE's payroll to assure employees are paid accurately, timely and in accordance with established requirements; assure proper completion of tax, retirement plans and other reports; supervise, train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel; perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate
Has a strong grasp of K-12 payroll procedures, rules and regulations and possesses outstanding communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Has a strong understanding of CalSTRS and CalPERS retirement system regulations and reporting requirements.
Has the ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadline requirements.
Has the supervisory experience necessary to coordinate the activities of the department, provide training to staff and supervise the activities of assigned personnel.
Is a positive problem solver and team player with the ability to solve issues and make recommendations.
This position is full-time, in-person and has a work year of 12 months per year, 261 days, 8 hours per day.
Leadership team members are eligible to receive a $2,500 annual stipend for a master’s degree and a $2,500 additional stipend for a doctorate, provide official documentation is submitted.

Experience: Four years increasingly responsible payroll services experience
