DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Under the direction of the Chief Business Official, the Director of Fiscal Services plans, organizes, controls and directs the activities and operation of the Fiscal Services Department including general accounting, payroll processing, receipt and disbursement of funds, data entry into appropriate system, financial and fiscal reporting. The Director of Fiscal Services also assists in the District budget development and performs related work as assigned by the Chief Business Official (CBO). The incumbent is responsible for the supervision of personnel involved in the accounting, payroll, receivable, and payable departments. Position is classified as confidential and the individual must have the ability to complete assignment without direct supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS Education: Training and experience equivalent to graduation from college with a major in Business Administration or related field and four years of successful work in the area of school finance or public sector accounting. Professional Certification: * CASBO CBO Certification * Formal School Business Management Certification by organizations like FCMAT, SSC, CASBO, ACSA, or from any major college or university. Experience: * At least four years of increasingly responsible experience working in all aspects of school finance and accounting within a K-12 education agency or charter school in California. Other Requirements: * Possession of a valid California driver license.
