Under administrative direction, plans, organizes, and manages multiple service units responsible for the operations and maintenance of a human resources, payroll, credentialing, and retirement reporting systems provided to participating client school districts, charter schools, agencies, and community colleges of the Los Angeles County Office of Education.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following

Knowledge:

• Federal, state, and local laws relating to human resources, payroll, credentialing, and retirement reporting processes and administration
• Principal and practices of human resources, payroll, credentialing, and retirement reporting
• Concepts of systems integration and systems analysis
• Provisions of the California Administrative Code, Education Code, Government Code, and related state laws pertaining to certificated and classified employees
• Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS applications
• Fundamental concepts of employment laws, codes, and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements

Required Education and Experience

Education: A bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources management, public administration, information systems or a closely related field to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Experience: Five years of experience in the administration of automated business systems related to human resources, payroll, payroll accounting, or retirement reporting, including two years of supervisory experience.

Additional Requirements: A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required.
