Under the direction of assigned Administrator, plan, coordinate, organize, direct and manage the district’s risk management program in the areas of health and welfare, workers compensation, property and liability, loss prevention and safety/emergency planning; serve as a liaison with legal counsel, physicians, claimants, claims administrators, insurance firms and various governmental agencies; assure district compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws; supervise, train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
Any combination equivalent to: bachelor's degree in public or business administration, risk management, human resources or a closely related field and five years of recent increasingly responsible experience managing risk management programs, including property and liability, loss control, safety, employee insurance and workers’ compensation in a public agency, educational environment preferred, including at least three years of management or supervisory experience. Designation as a Professional Risk Manager (PRM) or Certified Risk Manager (CRM) highly desirable.
