Supervisory or Clerical – Accounting, Supervisory or Clerical – Transportation
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Under the general direction of the Assistant Superintendent, Business Services, this position coordinates the District’s student transportation service; including the training of drivers, scheduling and assigning of bus routes, and the dispatching of drivers, student transportation assistants, and equipment to safely transport students. Trains school bus drivers for certification by the California Highway Patrol. May drive a school bus, as necessary or required. This is a management position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above, such as a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five (5) or more years experience in operating a school bus, as well as some experience in the routing and dispatching of school buses.
LICENSES ANDOTHER REQUIREMENTS: The possession and maintenance of a valid California Motor Vehicle License of the Class B type including air brakes and passenger certification, and a valid California School Bus Driver’s Certificate; as well as a safe driving record. California State Department of Education School Bus Driver Instructor Certificate authorizing classroom and behind the wheel training certification, or able to qualify for such certificate within one (1) year of employment in this classification, and the maintenance of such certificate as a condition of continued employment. Possession of a current Red Cross First-Aid Certificate, or evidence of having passed the California Highway Patrol First-Aid examination.

Additional Salary Information: VACATION
Employees accumulate 15 days of vacation during the first year of employment, increasing to a total of 19 days after 7 years with a max of 24 days after 12 years of service, prorated for part-time, 9, 10 and 11 month assignments.
12- month employees receive 18 annual paid holidays.
Employees accumulate 13 days of paid sick leave per year, with unlimited accumulation, prorated for part-time, 9, 10, and 11 month employees.
Employees in the classified service working 20 hours or more are members of the California Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and Federal Social Security; employees working less than 20 hours are members of the Public Agency Retirement System (PARS).
You are eligible for the district’s medical, dental and vision insurance plans if you are in the classified service and work 30 hours or more per week. For full-time employees the district pays the employee’s health, dental and vision premiums with an employee contribution required for some plans. Low-cost dependent coverage is available. There is a choice of health plans and life insurance coverage. All employees in the classified service are provided with a District paid life insurance policy.
