San Francisco Unified is looking to hire a new Purchasing & Warehouse Manager!
We want a highly-motivated, self-directed individual who will be an integral part of the Business Services team, and be a leader in our change management efforts to streamline central office processes in order to promote efficiency and accessibility.
As Manager, you will:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Purchasing and Warehouse department with a focus on providing the highest standards of customer service to our schools and central office staff
Plan, organize, and oversee activities related to the purchasing functions of the District, including the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment and services
Prepare detailed specifications, informal bids, quotes, formal bids and proposals for procurement of major supplies, services and equipment
Work closely with district General Counsel's staff on complex negotiations, actions required to resolve protests, and the interpretation and implementation of legal aspects of procurement
Authorizes and approves purchase orders, encumbrance purchase orders, and contracts in compliance with established district Board policies, Education and Public Contract Codes and other regulatory requirements

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S) from an accredited college or university
Additional non-supervisory experience may be substituted for the required degree on a year for year basis (up to a maximum of two(2) years)
Three (3) years of professional purchasing experience with responsibilities such as identifying vendors and ascertaining quotes, selecting a vendor based on a set of criteria, negotiating terms and conditions, procuring goods and services, requests for proposals and term contracts
Experience with supervising the work of professional purchasing staff
Possession of a valid California driver’s license and/or be able to provide own transportation in the conduct of work assignments
Strategic leadership and management experience; in a K-12 public educational setting preferred
Additional Salary Information: ($95,549 - $130,518 as of January 1, 2019)
