Director – Accounting, Director – Financial Services
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES Under general direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services is responsible for fiscally related functions and activities including fund accounting, purchasing, and budget development of all district funds; preparation of financial analyses and administrative studies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates the preparation and maintenance of the district budget in compliance with fiscal guidelines.
Prepares claims, cost reports and other financial reports as required.
Directs, supervises and coordinates District fiscal accounting records and transactions related to audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budget, purchasing, E-rate and building projects.
Maintains general ledger and cash flow for all district and project funds, including investment of said funds.
Responsible for fiscal year closing and related reports.
Establishes and supervises a program of adequate accounting to record in detail all money and credit transactions.
Maintains and analyzes all accounting records of appropriations, income, expenditures and cash balances for all school district funds.
Serves as liaison to the Stanislaus County Department of Education for accounting, payroll, attendance, and financial system assistance.
Interprets the California School Accounting Manual, California Education Code, District policies, audit compliance, and Federal and State regulations.
Assists in development of the district’s budget, including all revenue sources and expenditure categories in all funds.
Maintains fixed asset inventory.
Plans, organizes and supervises the preparation of all mandated cost reports.
Responsible for completing financial reports related to building projects and developer fees.
Coordinates preparation and control of categorical budgets with program managers.
Receives, verifies, and processes deposits and journal transactions.
Assists payroll staff to ensure proper accounting of payroll.
Represents the District at local and state fiscal meetings.
Prepares a wide variety of statistical and research data for specified activities.
Directs and participates in the selection, training and development of staff; conducts performance appraisals and makes recommendations for employment actions.
Works with District auditors in preparation of the annual financial audit.
Performs other related work as assigned.

Additional Salary Information: Annual Stipend for Masters - $2119
Annual Stipend for Doctorate - $2474
