Director – Accounting, Director – Facilities, Director – Maintenance and Operations
The Pleasant Valley School District is seeking a collaborative and dedicated Director of Facilities, Maintenance and Operations. This position will lead and oversee a department consisting of approximately 16 regular employees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assume full management responsibility for Facilities, Maintenance and Operations services and activities of the District.
Inspect school land, buildings and facilities; determine the work needed to contract, repair, refurbish or renovate buildings and facilities.
Develop and oversee project construction schedules providing for major elements, such as phasing of construction and time tables of commencement and completion required for each separate contractor.
Make work assignments and set priorities; train, evaluate and review the work of department managers and supervisory personnel.
Assist in site acquisitions, including development of lists of potential sites and evaluation of sites for cost of construction; serve as the representative of the school district on construction projects.
Manage and participate in the development and administration of the Facilities, Maintenance and Operations Department budget.
Work with Board of Trustees, architects and administrators on the design, construction or alteration of school buildings and landscaped areas, review and assist in making changes in plans for specifications; interpret plans for contractors and subcontractors; maintain construction records and prepare reports; develop and present material to Board for approval.
Any combination equivalent to sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above. Typically, this would be gained through: Bachelor's degree in planning, public administration, engineering, architecture, business administration or related field and five years of increasingly responsible experience in the construction, maintenance operations and repair of large buildings in a multi-site environment, including at least three years of supervisory experience involving school maintenance, operations and construction. A valid California driver's license is required.
